Dr. Roger Eduardo MD, FASMBS

Board-Certified Bariatric & General Surgeon — Newnan, GA. Yale. Emory. Grady. Cleveland Clinic Florida.

[Dr. Eduardo portrait]

Dr. Roger Eduardo grew up on the beaches of Trinidad and Tobago before his path led him to Yale University for undergraduate studies. After losing his grandfather to metastatic cancer, he knew he wanted to move from studying biology to actively intervening — and applied to medical school.

He earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine. After a 24-hour rotation at Grady Hospital, he realized surgery was his calling: the ability to transform a patient's life within hours. He then pursued a bariatric fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida, expanding his training in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

Dr. Eduardo is board-certified in general surgery and holds an active Georgia medical license. His clinical expertise spans sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, SADI-S and duodenal switch, bariatric revision, acid reflux surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder and abdominal-wall procedures, and advanced endoscopy.

Outside the operating room, he's a father, a fisherman, an amateur carpenter, and a serious home cook. He's currently co-authoring a book with a psychiatrist on the relationships people develop with food from infancy — and how those relationships shape health across a lifetime.

On practicing medicine

Obesity isn't just a disease — it's the disease that quietly causes so many others. When we treat it surgically, we don't just help patients lose weight. We help them put diabetes into remission, get off their CPAP, and start sleeping through the night again.
